New Hope offers different types of support according to life circumstances.

Our core groups are listed below. We encourage you to call New Hope at 248-348-0115 for guidance if you are not sure which group is right for you. We also offer groups that are not listed here, which we can discuss with you.

FROM GRIEF TO NEW HOPE —
a six to eight week seminar. A grief support workshop, “From Grief
to New Hope” meets one evening per week for six to eight consecutive weeks. Topics include:“The Grief Journey”, “Pitfalls Along the Path”,“But I’m Not Angry”, and “Overcoming Guilt and Depression”. Small groups follow the lecture, with people placed in groups according to their life circumstances.

FRESH START
An ongoing general support group for widows and widowers provided to help you face grief issues that include learning how to go on once you’ve moved through the early grief stages. Participants in this group are invited to a dinner once a month (see Fresh Start Dinner below).

Westside

NEW HOPE FOR YOUNG WIDOWS AND WIDOWERS
An ongoing support group for young widows and widowers with children and/or teens. Each night that we meet, we intend to divide into two groups — one for those in early grief and the other for those who are facing moving on issues.

2nd and 4th Tuesday
7:00 – 8:30 p.m.

NEW HOPE FOR KIDZ
For children between the ages of 4 and 11 who have lost a loved one. Children ages 4 to 6 meet in one group, and ages 7 to 11 meet in a separate group.

PARENTS WHOSE CHILD HAS DIED
We offer one-on-one peer support for parents whose child has died. Six to eight week grief support workshops are also available.

HIGH HOPES FOR TEENS
For teenagers between the ages of 12 and 19 who are trying to make it through an especially difficult time. The teenage years are full of change and, often, turmoil. A loss added to the normal adjustments can be devastating. Teens will be divided into two groups — younger teens and older teens.
